What is Tsar Wars?
Entering iGaming from the outside was nerve-racking, but it has actually turned out to be my biggest advantage. I have no preconceived ideas about how things should be done, and I’m not playing anybody else’s rulebook.

BGaming has released Johnny vs Chicken, a slot that pulls two recurring characters out of separate franchises and stages a head-to-head between them. The Johnny Cash character, from titles including Johnny Cash Train Heist and Johnny Cash Gold Rush, draws pistols with the lead sheriff from Chicken Rush.
The news here isn’t really about a single Wild West slot. It’s about how BGaming is treating its existing intellectual property. Rather than launching another standalone theme, the studio is connecting characters that already carry their own player recognition, a crossover approach more common to entertainment franchises than to slot catalogs.
The game arrived on September 15, 2026, and forms part of BGaming’s Entertainment line.

The Netherlands online gambling market has been the subject of many column inches and much speculation thanks to regulation that has been largely described as heavy-handed and perhaps a little short-sighted – even by the country’s own regulator.

So what is public sentiment like towards operators? “My feeling is that if you look at public sentiment, they don’t see really the difference between online and land-based,” says Petra. “If you look into what they’re saying, they’re primarily talking online. But for the general public, there is no difference [between the channels] in that respect.”
She believes the sentiment towards gambling among the Dutch public is comparable to the UK, Finland, Germany, France. “So, very tense,” she says.
